Receive Eternal Life

My pastor has always told us that the "Laws of Gravity" work whether we believe them or not. If I jump from an airplane without a parachute - gravity will pull me down to earth. I could confess all I want - "I'm not going to fall, I'm not going to fall. . ." trust me, you will fall. So because I made a decision to receive the laws of gravity by faith, even though I don't understand them; I won't have to suffer the consequences of what happens when you disobey them.

The same works with the things of God. You can say there is no heaven and hell but there is a heaven and there is a hell. If you don't make a choice for Jesus before you take your last breath, you will spend eternity in hell - whether you believe it or not. The Bible tells us in Romans 10:8-10 "But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

Let me tell you a few things about salvation. It is not a feeling. You won't necessarily feel different after saying this prayer. However, a change will take place on the inside. Salvation does not keep you from sinning. Even after you pray and receive Jesus as Lord- at some point, you will still sin again because we all miss the mark. However, when you sin, don't run from God, run to Him. REPENT! Confess your sins and trust God's word in I John 1:9. I call that taking a "spiritual bath." You're dirty spiritually because of sin. But God's word cleanses you and He's faithful and just to forgive you of your sins. Lastly, I would encourage you to find a good local church that will teach the Bible. Then begin to study day and night. (Joshua 1:8-9). Attend church regularly (Heb. 10:25). Being with other Christians will help you to be successful in your walk with God and if you allow God's word to work - you'll sin less and become more prosperous in your relationships and life in general.

Now, if you truly want to be saved and have eternal life, say this prayer right where you are, mean it in your heart and you will be saved:

Dear Lord Jesus. I believe that You are the Son of God. I believe that You died on the cross at Calvary, bearing all of my sins for me. They put You in a grave, but I believe that You are no longer there. I believe that You rose from the dead and that You are alive right now. Thank You, Lord, for hearing my prayer, Thank You Lord, for answering my prayer and coming into my life right now. I believe with my heart and I confess with my mouth that Jesus is now my Lord, Savior, and Master, and as of right now, according to your Word, I am born again!"

If you just prayed that prayer, you are now "born again" and your name has been written in the Lambs' Book of Life (Revelation 21:27). When you leave this world, death will be the taxicab that will take you heaven bound.
